I recently graduated and am in the process of looking for a job. I know that the Career Center doesn’t have the best reputation, but I figured it could hurt to go there for a little extra help. They recommended that I sign up with Valpo Connect which allows me to post my resume and view job postings. I thought I’d take a look, and in my search were a few jobs posted in the past month or two and then all of a sudden it jumped to postings from 2008. I might be wrong, but I think they have probably filled that position by now. Also, I found the following job listed. This sounds totally legit:

Sorry, but this does not sound like a legit career-type job to me. It sounds more like a scam. Also, what company makes hiring decisions within 24 hours???? Geez I wish all the other places I applied to would respond let alone respond within 24 hours.
All I want is a reputable, real job and maybe for the posts to be removed after six months or even a year. Thanks but no thanks Career Center.
Not only did you chalk on the edge of the library walls, you chalked about some trans-gender appreciation day. Maybe I should just be happy this was done BEFORE the grade school basketball tournament and prospective student visit days.
No wonder why I never got a hotel confirmation email while in Europe over spring break, Valpo decided to forcibly make me switch my password. Conveniently had to be charged international roaming phone charges to figure out the problem.
If you can’t understand the difference in between “then” and “than”, then you shouldn’t be in college.
editor’s note: guilty. consider this my resignation from VU.
If you want to talk in the library, go to the stairs. Or outside. Or downstairs. If you can’t understand the concept of a quiet floor and why it is necessary at a university, than you shouldn’t be in college.
I’m holding my breath that we’ll only get one email today, and writing my critique now:

This baby is pure (brown &) gold.
- This headline is dismal. Cooper Std. Black is a reasonable font to use in some circumstances, but paired with a drop shadow and that spray paint, this is a whole different thing. Where did you get that spray paint brush? It is outrageously bad.
- Both the “Feb 17 7:05” (Stephen Anthony Time Style #2), and “Go Crusaders” are written in a font which I can’t identify, but if I had to guess, I would say “Comic Sans retarded cousin.”
- Speaking of that “Go Crusaders thing, who thought that was a good idea? Is it supposed to look like Homer Drew actually has that on his coat? Was the tie not outrageous enough? This is a failure in every way. I don’t understand who thought this was a good idea.
- The black border around the whole thing cuts off the side of the quotation mark on “Come and Play Student Trivia Contest”. So that’s pretty awesome.
- MBB? It took me a second or two to figure out that this stood for Men’s Basketball. We all could have done without the acronym though, I believe.
- Once again, the use of punctuation here is astounding, “Know your MBB trivia” is a sentence with a subject and verb and everything. No punctuation. “Prizes Awaraded!” is not a sentence. It gets an exclamation point. Awesome
Keep em coming Stephen Anthony, two at a time as usual. I want to click the link to unsubscribe, but just like a car crash, I can’t look away.
Why is it that the engineering building is the most illogically designed building on campus? Is it because the awkwardest people on campus need to be in an awkwardly designed building?
There are several issues with the layout of the building; the most baffling is the bathroom locations. The main bathrooms are in a logical location down the front hallways. The men and women’s are located right next to each other. After that it really doesn’t make any sense. Upstairs is home to a men’s bathroom and woman’s bathroom, located on opposite ends of the building. The woman’s bathroom is located by the back stairwell and the men’s is buried in a side hallway by faculty offices. The men’s bathroom is only convenient to faculty, as the downstairs bathroom is just as close in distance to any classroom upstairs anyways. Downstairs there’s a men’s bathroom down the hallway of the seldom used mechanical labs. The hallway with the computer labs and senior design labs lacks a bathroom, which would be a logical location for a bathroom.
The bathrooms itself are horrendous. The men’s requires opening two doors to get inside. People entering and exiting at the same time creates a very awkward situation because the little hallway room in between doors is too small for two people. More problems exist in the placement of urinals, which are basically on top of each other, which is bound to violate the men’s code from time to time. The bathroom itself is not pleasing and has grimy floors and dim yellow lighting.
Another terrible issue Gelerson has is the width of the stairwells. They are both at least a foot too narrow. The breaks between 9:05 and 10:10 classes attract high amounts of traffic in the front stairwell. It is very hard to walk down the stairs when a single person is walking up the stairs at the same time. Now add about twenty students to the mix. Now add gelerson engineering students.
I hate how, any other day, VUPD is all about enforcing parking with the proper tags in the proper lot and whatnot EXCEPT on days that VU Men’s Basketball is being played.
Yes, I realize that most of the games are after the hours that parking permits are being enforced, but why do they park a VUPD outside the parking lot entrance for Guild/Memorial for EVERY game?
Its very annoying to pay all this money to attend college here and I can’t even find a place to park come game time. I should be free to come and go as I please and not have to worry about when to be back for fear of not being able to find parking within a mile of the ARC.
And lets be honest- we should pave the football field over and use it as parking space for the ARC. At least it would get better use….
How come the library computers freeze up when I try to switch printing to single sided?
